Still play many ps2 games on my ps3. It is much easier to have only one console at the dorm rather than 3.
Sony has me excited for motion controls again. I remember Nintendo announcing the motion controls and I got thoughts of one to one swords movements in Zelda. Hopefully Sony will end up doing something like that as their demos look like the foundations for such a game.
I love the fact they got rid of that crummy glossy surface. I hate how everything "advanced" always has that. This new finish looks so much better. Just look at their comparison picture, the old ps3 shows all the smudges on it. I actually want one of these even though I have a 60 Gb.
The only thing don't like about the new one is the buttons, but that was probably a cost cutting feature.
@ThanatosDMC
I think I killed that guy originally when I was bored because I wanted to pickpocket him right there for better weapons or armor early in the game. I went looking for him but I think he is the dead guy laying right outside the buildings door. Oh well.
Most of my friends have had their Xbox's die, but each one of them have also had one week turnarounds. Most of the time involved in the repair process was dedicated to shipping. It arrived at the repair center in the morning and by the afternoon it was already back in UPS' hands.
While I am happy to keep my old psp-1000 for my old umd games as you have suggested (heck I have every system or game I have ever owned), but this is the first system or portable that I am aware of that loses compatibility with games of its generation.
To me it is as if a slim ps3 came out, but this new ps3 can't play older ps3 games, only new ones that you can download.
Regardless if people can't transfer their old games, I think this a good move for Sony even if ...
The problem with your analogy is that the PSP go in effect does not play all psp games. The DSi was made to play all DS games. Gameboy Advance backwards compatibility was a plus in the original systems. Regardless of whether or not Sony officially provides a solution to this problem, I know I can rely on the hacking community to provide me a method of playing PSP games I own on a PSP Go.
While xbox's hardware does suck. I have found their repair service to be informative and prompt. Packed it up on a Tuesday last month and sent it out, a week later it returned. I applaud Microsoft for at least making the repair process painless. I have never seen turnaround times that fast.
Interesting stuff commodore64, didn't know about any of that.
It's actually a ps2 game, although it felt more like a tech demo.... a strange one.
On a side note I just realized that I haven't seen a HHG article in a while. Either I am tuning them out or vacation has messed with my mind.
I have been playing Oblivion constantly for the past week. Originally I thought the game was boring and pushed it to the side, but after picking up the game again I am amazed by its depth. I'm still at the beginning of the main quest, but I have spent so much time doing all the guild quests. Whenever they are ready to make another Elder Scrolls game I will be sure to pick it up.
hmm.. got 85 seconds. Would be ten times easier if they but left hand and right hand mini games on the the left side and the right side respectively. Can't keep the controls straight otherwise. I actually used my right hand for the wasd and the left for the arrows to get that time. Much easier in my mind.
Throw his Big Mac! How is he going to eat then? No, I think he'll bludgeon people with it, and then take a bite out of it.
Anyways glad ps3 is starting to take stride with its exclusive games. One starts to worry about how many games have 3's, 4's, 5's behind their names. It's nice to have new ips that turn out to be great like Uncharted.
At least the current influx of rumors can generally all be in/validated at Gamescon. The slim will either be true or false.
@indyman77
I think the original Xbox still beats the PS3 in terms of size.
Can't surf the web without.... I might become lost if were not on.
@FamilyGuy
@zlatko
Although I also am said that I don't get to play this sooner, I think this is a big plus. Many of the smaller games out there that wouldn't stand a chance against the juggernauts are receiving extra polish making them a better experience. I am already looking forward to next year.
@z-hayden
I think K-mart closed most of its stores in the south when it was doing badly 5+ years ago. I sort of wish it was here now considering that Circuit City and CompUSA have been essentially killed off. Luckily I still can rely FRY's to come through with good deals.
@cgoodno
Best Buy has been disappointing. The less they put out games, the more I spend money at Fry's Electronics. The only time I spend money at Best Buy is when they clearance things out like Socom box set with the headset for a price less than the normal game or the headset individually.
